1909  It was heavy sledding on the Upper Ottanoonsis trail. The two lumbermen were nearing the close of the third day of the hard four day's haul in from the Settlements to the camp.
1942  A twelve-mile haul was nothing at all [for the donkey-engine], her exhaust made clouds in the sky. . . .
1955  . . . the haul is now going along fairly well and is pretty much on a par with last year's operations.
